Michael Jackson Musical Details

Further details have been revealed on the Michael Jackson jukebox musical. The previously announced and hotly anticipated show, now confirmed to be called Don’t Stop Til’ You Get Enough, will premiere at Chicago’s James M. Nederlander Theatre, will feature a book by Lynn Nottage and is expected to come to Broadway in 2020. It’s initial aforementioned limited run in Chicago will begin on the 29th of October and will finish on the 1st of December.

London Theatre Attendance Increases

London Theatre attendance went up last year, according to new statistics from the Society of London Theatre. The 3% increase in attendance and resulting 15.4% increase in revenue, are both being credited to a large number of big selling musicals opening last year, including Hamilton and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. However, there was also a 6.5% drop in play attendance, resulting in a 5.2% decrease in revenue from that genre.

To Kill a Mockingbird National Tour Cancelled

The upcoming UK tour of to Kill A Mockingbird has been cancelled following an exclusivity claim from the Broadway production.
The show, based on Harper Lee’s classic novel of the same name, would’ve debuted at the Leicester Curve on the 7th of February, before making its way to cities including Birmingham, Norwich, Kingston, Milton Keynes, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Canterbury, Malvern, Dublin, Guildford, Salford, Aberdeen and Inverness. However, Atticus Limited Liability are now claiming worldwide exclusive stage rights to To Kill A Mockingbird, resulting in the tour being called off with immediate effect.

Mary Poppins Dates Announced

Official dates have been announced for the upcoming revival of Mary Poppins. The hit show, based on both PL Traver’s novels and the Disney adaptation, will return to the Prince Edward Theatre for its first previews on the 23rd of October before officially opening on the 13th of November. Meanwhile, tickets will go on sale at 10am on the 28th of January.
